Captain’s chair

This is what is called a captain’s chair. It features a sculpted back rest which supports and cradles the sitters lower back. Being a lower chair design, this would be a suitable dining chair, or indeed a chair to be used for various other activities around a table. The legs and sticks are tapered octagons and the seat is saddled with a pommel ridge for comfort. Here, this example has a Juniper milk paint and oil finish.
