‘The Spirit of Wales’

This chair is one of several new designs that I am creating through the studio. I have looked to the past for inspiration in creating these pieces and ones that embody ‘the spirit of Wales’ in their appearance. Paired back, minimal and the essence of what a chair should be, all these words encapsulate Welsh stick chairs and I look forward to be putting the finishing touches to this chair, including painting it in a historical milk paint, which will lift this piece and draw attention to the strong lines of its form.
