Welsh three stick chair complete

Today I assembled the three stick Welsh chair that I’ve been working on in oak. I’m really happy with how it has come out and am planning on finishing it with one of the tinted oils that you can see in the first photo. This is, very much, a chair that typifies all that is Welsh - a historical design that I have researched from the museum at Saint Fagan’s in Cardiff and made my own. It’s amazing just how comfortable this chair is, despite it minimal appearance, a little carving on the seat really goes a long way. I’m excited to see what other chair designs I can make using these tinted oils from Osmo, that really enhance the grain of the wood and add a traditional feel to each piece.
