Prototyping a lounge rocking chair

So this is a prototype chair design that I have been ask to make by many people - a rocking chair. I have several new designs in the pipeline, some of which will also be other rocking chair designs. Here I am getting a feel for the proportions and construction methods for this chair. It uses the same DNA as the lounge chair, already made and photographed on the chairs page on this site, but with an added rocker beneath the seat. I think I will add stretchers as an under carriage and refine the rocker blades by adding tapered chamfers to the edges. In the next build, I think I’ll increase the arm thickness a touch to echo the sumptuous aesthetic that this chair has.
